Here’s a theory:
Every artist depends on an ever-changing group of supporters to survive and thrive. Parents, teachers, comrades, collaborators, fans — artists grow and develop only with the help of other people.
Usually, this group is not conscious of itself as a community. These people mostly don’t know each other, or think of themselves as a group.
Identifying and celebrating this community results in artists getting more support and supporters getting more art.
One way to define the Patronopolis is as a test of this theory.
